linux on second hdd ?

Hi,
This isn't really gentooX-specific, but I think this is a good place to ask questions like these.
I heard somewhere that its possible to connect a second hdd to my xbox instead of a dvd-rom.
Since I want to play fatx-games from hdd while also having a full-functional linux (2.6 kernel etc) i think this might be good for me.
So my plans are to remove the dvd-drive from the xbox, conencting the current hdd (300gb) at the slave-device and another hdd (40gb) as master.
I want to use the 40gb hdd for games (normal fatx-setup) and the 300gb for linux.

So there are 3 questions:
-Does this work with BIOSes like executor or evo-x?
-Do xbox-games run well without a dvd drive connected?
-is it possible to boot the linux system on the second hdd from an xbe-loader (xromwell..)?

Thank you guys...

well, i can answer one question, your xbox games should run fine without a dvd-rom. I have had to do that a few times.
