Emerge problem

Hi,I've just install gentoox using the ftp method and every time I type the emerge command (ex.:emerge sync) it go to a balck screen with white writing and my ip shown in the bottom,then it go to a black screen with the virtual keyboard in brown at the bottom left corner and after all my screen is fudge up?!?

use xbvset to fix your screen.. Try the lower resolution..

Thank you man but that was not that,there were missing files in my distro(I think the swap file was missing)I reinstalled it and it work now
