Mounting iso's in gentoox??

Post by bobbyaustin »

I am trying to mount an iso in gentoox, I have got the iso stored on a new partition on my f drive (/mnt/linux) but I am having problems.

I get an error regarding no loopback device, superbock or too many devices.

I have had a look on a few sites and can't find the solution but I suppose the first question is does gentoox have loopback support enabled in the kernel or by a module and if not how can I put this in. If it does have it can anyone help with my problem.

Cheers Bob.

Hi, I've already mounted an iso without problem with Gentoox, so loop back is ok :

mount -t iso9660 <image.iso> <mount point> -o loop

and it was working. Perhaps your image is corrupted ?

Yeah - I think that was the problem two, funny thing is I had downloaded 2 different iso's and not one worked. I thought I would give it one more go and it worked.

Cheers.
