general question about new harddrive

hi there, i read something about
that fatx partitions can not be larger than 4GB or something like that ?
but how can i copy all my xboxgames onto a 160GB harddrive ??
for each game a partition ??

i don't get it :) please inform me

try it..

and dont ask about ripping games, cause its not legal to do so..

I do not rip, I backup them.
and as long as I have the original disc, i can copy them as much as i want :)

....nothing illegal, that's for sure, i know my rights :wink:

I think its the individual file size that can`t be over 4GB not the partition.

I could be wrong though.

You're right. Fatx is a stripped down version of fat32. The partition size isn't limited to 4GB, but the individual file size is.

And as for the legality of ripping games. To "rip" is to copy from the disc, and if you've got the disc, you can copy it wherever you like =)

Actually, that varies per your location..... I know in the US, any backup of an Xbox game is illegal because to do so, you'd have to disable the copy protection on the Xbox, which is now illegal because of the DMCA. I'm not sure about the UK and other Asian countries, but I know you can't do it in the US.
