login w/o keyboard
The default configuration auto-logs into KDE. Most likely you set it to not auto-start the GUI, and thus it doesn't auto-login. You can either fix this back to auto-starting the GUI, or access it entirely via SSH & VNC. Or makeing/ordering a USB adapter.
>>Howto turn the auto-start GUI back on<<
Step 1: Make sure you have an SSH client. You can get a Windows SSH client here. If you have a UNIX/Linux/Mac OS X box, you probably already have a client installed.
Step 2: Initiate the connection
A. Using PuTTY, type the IP of the Xbox, pick 'SSH' for connection type, and you should be ready to connect
B. For CLI (command line interface) SSH, 'ssh root@$ip_of_xbox_here'
Step 3: Enter password for rootus rootus (root). You know the drill.
Step 4: Decide on WM (Window Manager) - KDE or XFCE
A. For kde, 'magic kde'
B. For XFCE, 'magic xfce' *NOTE: XFCE will have to be install - could take an hour or sore
Step 5: After letting magic do it's thing, tell Xbox to reboot. 'reboot'.
Step 6: Profit!
>>HOWTO use SSH/or/VNC<<
1. Follow the previous HOWTO to Step 3. This gets you to the CLI via SSH. That's pretty much it as far as connecting with SSH.
2. Then follow the ShALLaX howto on VNC, if you want a remote GUI here
>>If you want to make USB keyboard adapter<<
A. Make a USB hub adapter here. To keep consistent with the tutorial, I'd reccomend using a Belking hub - that way the wire colors will be similar to the tutorial.
B. Order a USB adapter from Lik Sang here
C. Order an IR Keyboard w/ integrated Mouse. Froogle search link here NOTE - you'll need the DVD dongle for this one.
