Make process autostart at bootup

Post by trixter »

I installed an application, ProFTPD, which must be run as root. I would like to make it autostart at bootup. A book I purchased on using Webmin says there is supposed to be a Bootup and Shutdown Module to contol this under the System category, but I sure can't find it in the Gentoox version. In another post ShALLaX suggested editing the etc/con.d/local.start file. I looked at the latter but is seems very complex.

I can start proftpd if logged in as root directly from the KDE counsole. How can I make it startup automaticallly when Gentoox boots up? Thanks.
