Two problems after upgrading to Xorg

Post by althena77 »

Hello!!

I just ran magic and updated my Gentoox Home installation. Now I have two problems.

First in the login screen the keyboard layout changed back to US or UK layout so I have sometimes problems typing the correct password and username, especially when there are additional characters in it. I checked /etc/rc.conf again but there is still standing "de" for german layout.
I only have the problem in the login screen, not while working in KDE or when I switch to the commandline with [Ctrl] + [Alt] + [F1].

The second problem is, that Firefox and Thunderbird seem to be unable now to display japanese characters what was possible before. Now they are messed up.

I am running my Xbox on a normal TV with the settings Composite, 800x600 and PAL.

Greetings

Thanks... great and useful feedback! I'll try looking into this - i suspect it may be due to Xorg not coming with the correct fonts.
