No sound with Thunderbird

Hello!!

I have just installed Thunderbird 1.0 and it is working fine so far. The only thing that is just not functioning is the signal sound when getting a new Email.
I have tried to define sverel wav-files so far but for some reason Thunderbird is not playing them.
I have no such problems with other programs like Kopete, Korn and KDE generally (for example when booting).

What did I forget to do??

Hmm.. try launching thunderbird with "artsdsp thunderbird" .. or something like that... I forget the exact command.

With the command "artsdsp thunderbird" the sound is hearable but not yet always. If not I get the following message:

ALSA lib pcm_hw.c:1155:(snd_pcm_hw_open) open /dev/snd/pcmC0D0p failed: Das Gerät oder die Ressource ist belegt

The last words should be read in English "The device or resource is busy"

Could the problem be, that only one programm can be heared at the same time??
