Is support for Xbox remote supported some how yet?

Post by djdafreund »

Without having to compile a bunch of stuff to get it working? I noticed IRMan (just sold mine, shoot!) and Sony IR are in the list to choose, but isn't there any chance of getting the xbox remote working? I would think that would be supported before anything else at least. Maybe that's an understatement because it's linux, and doesn't mean xbox propriatory anymore.

The xbox remote is already supported - Gentoox MCE makes extensive use of it. You need lirc 0.6.6 + xbox patches.

If i'm not using MCE (would like to, but can't do native install since i have too much stuff and time on my f drive to loose it all.) Gentoox Home already supports the remote then? I couldn't see anything in the remote list (using KDE) about xbox remote.

'lirc 0.6.6 + xbox patches' guess i'll have to research more into this stuff you mentioned to get it working with Home?

you can also use it with Freevo if you don't want to install MCE.
