Flicker problem

I have a problem with installing gentoox. When I try to run the setup from a cd the screen flickers so much that I can't see a thing. I did a search in the forum and found out that the problem occurs when you have a v1.5 xbox. The problem here is that I have a v1.2 or v1.3 (dunno wich, the identification table is missing the the week when my xbox was made). So any idea what the problem might be?

Dunno if this is possible, but you could try a ftp install instead, unless anyone has any better ideas ?

Nevermind anymore. I got it installed throught ssh.
