Moving on from debian

Post by tmyknocker »

I have an unmodded xbox running debian. I want to use to install gentoox, but i dont know what i need to do and/or if it works on an unmodded xbox. (i am assuming it does, becase of other posts on this forum). I used the mechAssault trick from the xboxlinux team.

these q's are probably dumb, im a uber-newbie.

Do install it when debian is booted?
Do i clear of Debian (if i dont have that be better)?
Do I install gentoox on a different partition?
What partition is suggested?

I am just trying to get a better feel for what i need to get it running.

I want the xbox to seem impresive. I've heard way to many good thing about gentoo, so this is what i want the ole xbox

thanks tom

tom: as of right now i'm fairly sure that you have to boot the stardust cd in order for mechassult trick to see the cd and install it correctly. if you attempt to just copy the files to e: manually from within debian MA won't recognize it at all future support will be added to MA soon I'm almost positive but as of right now debian is the only truely supported OS --Bikr
