Gentoo hangs on "bringing up eth0" at boot.

I ran magic, it said something about the kernel and then ran the thing to change the TOC and VOC, then told me to runt "magic fix kernel" after reboot.

Now when i reboot i am stuck at bringing up eth0.

Any ideas, thanks.
