Installed gentoox on my 1.4 box yesterday and all was fine. (used SSH to do magic and solve the display issue).
Turned on today and have lots of errors on boot, mostly saying file/directory not found. The final message says:
kernel panic - atempted to kill init!
it then just hangs.......
I am new to all of this but I have a feeling that this is bad news. Anybody know what can be done?
Fine yesterday - bad today

I'm no guru, but I'll make a suggestion When you shutdown, did you use the "halt" or "shutdown -h now" command? If you just hit the power button, you could've corrupted your filesystem. The Sparkle tool in the downloads section can be burned to a disc and used to check the filesystem. Hope it helps.
Seems in the 2 minutes it took me to write this, someone else replied. Go figure.
