Locks up on boot?

I have tried ftping gentoox to my xbox and the screen comes up all fragmented, I was using the Evo-X M7 Bios could this be a problem? I also tried buring the cd and luanching it from the linux loader in my Xenium chip and it locks up on the line "compressed image found on block 0" how could I get linux working?
