OK, my hostname always reverts back to xbox nomatter what i set it to...
etc/hosts
etc/hostname
all read xbox or localhost...is there a way so i don't have to set it everytime i start my mail server?

I'm not sure i'm following you, you mean those files get overwritten by the system after you've edited them?

exactly...i need my hostname to stay....hop.homelinux.org....each time i check /etc/hosts it goes back to xbox
