Hi Everyone I am a kind of new here
My request is to enable the use of touch screen for my monitor on gentooX. I have found a competitively price touch screen kit in
http://www.acdplace.com/adtoucscreen4.html
There is a serial port adapter for linux so guess I have to solder the xbox gamepad with a usb port and the use a Y adapter to fixed it into the xbox replacing the mouse.
Would anyone tell me how to install it Pls.
Thanks
touch screen support for gentooX

Is this the one ?
I have found a 2 serial port to usb connector as follows because I want to build a POS (point of sale system) with touch screen and barcode scanner using linux :-
http://www.byterunner.com/cgi-bin/cart. ... atch=exact
Can someone confirmed that this can be used as it says support linux. Pls
Quote from the usb 2 serial vendor as follows :-
http://www.ftdichip.com/FTDriver.htm
"Linux Kernel 2.4.0 and greater has drivers for FTDI's FT232, FT245 and FT8U100AX devices built-in to the O.S. kernel so no downloads are necessary. Our thanks go to Bill Ryder who developed these drivers. Visit his website updated for the latest information / patches on Linux drivers for our devices. "
link again to http://ftdi-usb-sio.sourceforge.net/
Q1 Is GentooX built in with the drivers for serial port from USB ?
Q2 Is someone able to help me Maybe some other people can share some cost. I shall pay USD200 to the one that can make a bar code scanner, and a touch screen work on linux for commercialisation purposes. Any interested parties ? No keyboard is needed
Q3 Is the gentooX support any usb scanner ?
Q4 Is Xandros 2.0 (said to be king of the linux desktop) deluxe version can be combined with gentoox ? (sound a silly question).
Let share ideas

gentoox currently uses version 2.4.22 so those drivers will be available when Shallax set up the config he compiled in support for pretty much any eventuality so I should think you will be fine gentoox will support usb scanners as long as you have the drivers or they are present in the kernel.
Xandos is complete OS like gentoox, except it costs money $89 to be exact which is only $30 or so less than the cost of Windows purchased with a new PC. So that's $89 for a system you can get for free with a little bit of effort.
If you bought a copy of Xandros you could probably modify it to run on an xbox, but you would most likely have no support from Xandros (as has been shown by the crossover office saga) despite your $89.

If you keep an open mind, will your brain fall out?
