I seem to remember there was an Xpad tutorial on the older site that told you how to make the Xpad controller behave like a joystick instead of a mouse. I would like to switch this back, however I looked at the tutorial section and I couldn't find the Xpad tutorial.
Has this been put into another section or could someone please tell me how to switch this back? Thanks in advance.
What happened to the Xpad tutorial?

will probably give you what you want, at least for a while..
To summarize, the contents of that page:
Using your Xpad as a game controller in Gentoox
This one is really quite simple, all you need to do is the following:
1) Open a console/konsole
2) su –
3) modprobe xpad
4) modprobe joydev
That’s it, done. This will however take away Xpad mouse functionality (until you reboot). You will need a usb mouse in the mean time to control the cursor. If you want this change to be permanent do the following step:
5) echo “joydev” >> /etc/modules.autoload
Hope this helps!
