three things

(a) fluxbox is pretty
(b) it looks ram hungry that might suck for you if you are expecting your box to cope
(c) i am sure that ShALLaX can do it.. if the lazy bitch rewrites his script :P (just joking before you get upset)

Why not?

I'm running fluxbox for months now .. installs in less than a minute!

Choose the 0.1.14 or development tree from portage

So is 'chug' some aussie slang then fuz :) ?

No its very light, low memory and selectable 'eye candy' & very configurable.

Its got tabs, which are great, some anti aliased fonts, and other stuff which I don't select.

Really, it flies compared to kde crap.

The dev tree has got some nice features & is rock solid stable for me.

emerge fluxbox

will give you version 1.14r2 and if you want the development version, then;

emerge x11-wm/fluxbox/fluxbox-0.9.6_pre9.ebuild

cheers

ShALLaX - you developed gentooX, you made a requests thread, and therfore you took on the repsosibility of pleasing the users, dont get upset when the users want support / packages in their linux version..

loki - what is the error, maybe then we can try and help you

its kind of hard to fill every request.. if not impossible. and by the time your done you'd have such a bloated distro.

<rant>

sometimes peoples requests confuse me greatly. i know itd be great to have all of your fave apps in gentoox, but it doesnt make sense to include everything that everybody wants.

alot of the time its so easy to type emerge <package name> and it installs.. (i know thats not the case for fluxbox but im talking about in general).

i like vim much better then pico.. so i emerged it. there simple done. i have it now, it works.. I'm on dial up (and its not even fast dial up..) so if i can do it, everyone else should be able too (provided they have a connection to the net..)

</end rant>

i tried emerging flux box, and the current stable package does in fact come up with an error. I'll find it and post it soon...
