What do you want in Home v3.0?

What I have so far is this:

* Kernel 2.4.22
* Disable session saving in kde
* Add xfce4 as default (preconfigured)
* Add script to switch between window managers (XFCE<->KDE)
* Add frozen bubble (game)
* Delete sshd keys so they are generated on first boot (Security)

Of course I'll upgrade all of the software that is already included.

Let the suggestions begin...

Let me se...

IceWM as default WM :?
(Not with the ugly default theme, but with a nice one like Anon, IceGnome2, IceBlueCurve, or Aetheria. Maybe someone could make a custom one, designed for a TV screen)

Gnome instead of KDE?

An sshd that is configured for forwarding X.

Software:
gtkam
gphoto2
gtk-theme-switch

Btw, no window manager suggestions. XFCE and KDE will be included, nothing else :P. And no, there wont be nVidia 3D acceleration support.

Hi, I would like to have the possibility to install GentooX natively on my hdd like Ed's debian, with a swap partition and the rest of the drive used for root file system.

Native + Drive F support?

Hello *,

is it possible to have a native install and still having a Drive F: (like 20GB for Gentoox and the rest for drive F:?). That would be great!
Am I right, when I think native will be a lot more performant (espacially native swap).

Another one: I'm not a gcc-tuning expert, but are all compiling switches in make.conf optimal for a low-memory, low-cache Celeron? Perhaps some optimization will do a very good job....

Firebird and Thunderbird instead of Mozilla. They are better because they do the same thing, yet consume less memory and load/run faster by excluding some extra features such as HTML editing and IRC.

Possbily a working version on winex using Bikr's script installed (lol).

emacs would be nice but it's not that bad to emerge and i assume alot of people use pico instead.

Thats all I can think of right now.

the only thing i would like is mozilla firebird just as detroit would, cuz its way better than normal mozilla. :)

Ok, mozilla thunderbird and firebird are in, original mozilla is out.

Telnet client is in so is the telnet server (though its not setup to run).

Im not changing the way Gentoox installs. There will be no full native install or splitting of F. You can already make Gentoox run natively from your F: partition including native swap.

Emacs is too big to justify putting in for only a couple of users.

Bikrs wineX script is for him to sort out, not me.

USB wireless (Prism) device drivers are now included (linux-wlan-ng), though youll have to set them up yourself.

I dont think I'll be making any removals. Youll have to either use a rootfs installation to E: or get a bigger hdd if you dont have enough space on F:.

Oh, also VNC will be preinstalled as I know this has caused some people headaches when it comes to installing.

HOW ABOUT AN OPTION FOR KDE TO START AUTOMATICALLY WHEN GENTOOX BOOTS. I CAN GET A 1024X768 RESULTION TO WORK IN KDE ONLY. XFC4 GIVES ME A BLANK SCREEN. I MEMORIZED THE KEYSTROKES AND CAN LOG IN THAT WAY BUT IT WOULD BE A LOT EASIER IF KDE STARTED UP AUTOMATICALLY.
