"BOOT: Start USB Init" lockup

Post by ViRAL »

hey ppl
i found that that error is caused by the dvd dongle. when it was plugged in i had the error, as soon as i took it out it worked fine. i tried moving controllers around and it all worked as long as the dvd dongle wasn't in. hope that helps

It all depends. Maybe it has something to do with the region code stored in the dongle.

the USB lockup happens to me too but only if i have a xpad plugged in :) .. its just one of those things

im on a 1.2 board cromwell bios 800x600, 2x usb ports (replacing ctrl pad 3+4) ...

there are too many variables to pin it to one so i just unplug the controller :)

Exactly, which is why i renamed this topic from "The proper way to fix...." to just whatever it is now, there is no proper way to fix this, the code for cromwell is bugged.

Hi Shallax,
you wrote on your main page that you got the bug fixed... Will the fixed xbe be available via magic or can I download the file somewhere?

Regards

I just downloaded the Pro 1.1 and have taken the 800x600.xbe from the Xromwell directory.
The bug is still there.

Mine only hangs when I have the DVD dongle installed and more than one controller. If I unplug all but one of the controllers, it loads. Interestingly enough, this very same problems effects the Pheonix Bios Loader 1.3.5.
