Newbie: ISO files

Post by Five1Nine8Eight »

Im new to all of this ISO, images and stuff, i so i need to know how-to make the Shallax Home edition v.3c.rar become a ISO file. Im usin windows and after I unzipp it, it just becomes a normal file with no extensions like .iso. Is there any special program to turn it into an .iso, or does my computer just suck.

Thanks for ne help

Someone who doesn't know what a RAR file or an ISO file are should stick with windows. Linux is nowhere near as user friendly as windows is, and requires alot of by-hand tweaking and maintainence.

You're going to be asking for help and configuring your OS 10x more than you actually use it for the first few months.

However, if you really want to try, you can get winrar from http://www.rarsoft.com , then burn the iso using file --> burn image in nero (http://www.nero.com)
