Ok to make a long story short I am working on a feasibility study on using the Xbox as a cheap replacement for a home computer. What I need from people who reply to this thread is what they use Gentoox on their Xbox for. Try to give a brief description of typical activities done when using Gentoox.
Note: I am not asking whether or not you think that the Xbox could be used feasibly as a home computer replacement! I might ask that question in another post, but it will be awhile.
Thanks.

There´s a long list but I´m making it short. The main thing is that you can slide down in your sofa and get it all on one screen.
Here´s some stuff I do on my XBOX:
Web Server
FTP Server
Fileserver
Send & read e-mail
Browsing the web
Reading/making MS Word docs (OO)
Reading/making MS Excel docs (OO)
Reading/making MS PowerPoint docs (OO)
Browsing pictures
Watching movies
Listen to music
Chatt with friends
Playing games
Well I guess everything that a normal PC connected to at TV would do except harddisk recording from TV.[/img]

Basically all I use it for is a method to get my kids onto the Net and OFF my main pc!
Works a treat
I'll most likely start using it for other things once I've learnt a little bit more about Linux, I've installed it on my PC now, so I'll test things on the PC 1st and then do the same on the Xbox.
Xbox linux is a great way to tech yourself the ins and outs of the OS.
