XBMC Linux port

Just found out theres gonna be a port by the xbmc team themselves & they`re looking for anyone who might be able to help out with the port.

I`m not sure if this is anything that might be of use to gentoox
or not but all the same it is intresting.

if and when they do get it working, there will be no hardware acceleration for video, so i don't think things will play with that high of FPS running KDE (or maybe even xfce)

They could write a new driver too right? Maybe they are planing to do some kind of framebuffer mediacenter.

maybe through the fb, but there is no accel in the xbox nvidia driver afaik

[MAJOR - LOW PRIORITY] Hardware Accelerated Video Decoding on the GPU in some shape or form.

* (possible metods are XvMC, GLSL or Cg Pixel Shader (Shader Model 3.0), and/or GPGPU)
