Gentoo-specific problems with acm.o driver?

Post by dfect » Wed Jun 15, 2005 8:01 am

Having some problems with the module acm.o to bind it to a device, although it seems to run ok, but wont bind device..

------
hub.c: new USB device 00:02.0-1, assigned address 3
usb.c: USB device 3 (vend/prod 0xfce/0x1010) is not claimed by any active driver
------

After a 'modprobe acm'

------
usb.c: registered new driver acm
xpad.c: device 0x045e/0x0284 not recognized
acm.c: v0.21:USB Abstract Control Model driver for USB modems and ISDN adapters
------

ACM dont seem to find and doesnt bind the device.. , doesnt matter if i insmod it or disconnect/connect it after module loaded.., same result.

Also lsmod says its not in use..

------
acm 6304 0 (unused)

This is with debian (xebian) on the same machine, with same module version, works without any problems.., even tried it on slackware (pc) with both 2.4 / 2.6 kernels, working fine.

have you tried kernel settings on the Gentoox install, perhaps match them up with your xebian install
