Post by mrcmax »

is there any way to mod gdm within the code to allow for auto-login of the root user? (bypass the standard authorization??)

May I ask what the big deal about autologging in as root is?

Yourself.

Imagine you want to delete everything in the current directory:

rm -rf ./*

but slip, and dont type the '.' .... Bye bye entire system including fatx partitions which are automounted. Dont say it never happens, because it does.

If you login as a normal user, it wont let you run "rm -rf /*"
