things are not so easy... when you install a package there are dependencies that need to be updated, compiled and configured.

why cant you get internet connection to your xbox.
why do you want wine on xbox.

move the xbox into the room with the PC, install wine in a ssh session then move it back.

ssh is quite simple, especially if you know what the IP that will be assigned to your xbox will be once it boots. (my router always give the xbox mac address the same IP so I always know)

I use the Putty ssh client for windows, all I had to do was enter the IP into it, click ok when it wanted to create a certificate and it was asking me who I wanted to login to the box as. (default is user: root pass: xbox)

From there, you have a remote ssh terminal running. Simple enough? GL :)

No loopbacks, and I still have my F drive for xbox apps!

if you have home edition and you enabled samba you don't even need to know the IP just type xbox into putty as the address
