xorg failed

The script exits at the xbox-20041024.patch line:
9990_x86_6.8.9.0-xbox-20041024.patch . . .
Failed Patch:
9990_x86_6.8.9.0-xbox-20041024.patch!
There is a lengthy log file. The first error in the log file looks like this:
(I abbreviated it somewhat)

patching file xc/config/cf/xorg.cf
Hunk #7 FAILED at 512.
Hunk #8 succeeded at 563 (offset 4 lines).
. . .
1 out of 12 hunks FAILED -- saving rejects . . .

Unfortunately my installation seems to be messed up now, as it no longer boots into xfce. It stops at the command line login. Not sure how to fix that . . .
