Linux Web Cam

okay im getting back into this whole linux distro thing, so any who what i was wondering after i get this up and running again, could anyone suggest any linux based Web cam programs that are compatible with windows users? and if not can i run MSN Messenger? using like winex or something? OH and will windows based drivers work aswell, or can someone point me a the direct to get this crap to work. thx.
