I was wondering where do I download x-mplayer2 for gentoo for the xbox?I'm trying to open up a video on the web, and I get a messege saying that I need to download the plugin x-mplayer 2.I hit ok, and it takes me to Microsofts site, and I can't find a version of it for linux(figures ).
Thanks.
Thanks.

No it's not from xbox-scenes site, it's another site.I can't save the video either. The video is in a web page I guess you might say(or plays in a web browser).ShALLaX wrote:Save the file, then open it with mplayer. I take it youre trying to watch the new videos posted on xbox-scene. These are WMV.. hence it taking you to microsoft.com.

Ok here is an example.
http://www.techtv.com/screensavers/modt ... 71,00.html
Then select in Video highlight, "Xbox Media Player".I get a messege saying I need application x-mplayer2 to play it.
But I know what your going to say, just right click the link and download it.But on this other site I visit its a little picture you click to watch a video clip. And right clicking it only shows the pictures web address (i.e. website.com/gif)

Ok I did a search on google, typing in "Mplayer".And I got this site.
http://www.mplayerhq.hu/homepage/design6/news.html
So I guess will this work? Will it play media from within the web page?It looks to only play downloaded content though.

Well I think I might have found what I am looking for.
I did a search at http://packages.gentoo.org/
and found this.
http://packages.gentoo.org/search/?sstring=mplayer
"mplayerplug-in".
http://mplayerplug-in.sourceforge.net/
So do I just type "emerge mplayerplug-in" ?
