question ,not sure if installed properly

last night i installed mce 1.2 on my 1.6 system ,everything went smooth as far as i cant tell but i was unable to flash my chip off the disk had to do it manually from the hdd so i ftpd into the xbox and i noticed some of my gameback ups were still there according to the manual it was suppose to format the f drive im just wondering if the installtion went properly of if i missed a step im unableto navigate through the menu because i dont have a remote kit ,but im buying one as soon as i get off work,also one other question will a keyboard work if it is used with the fragjoy
