I got the "unable to create swap partition" on my xbox 1.0 w/ SmartXX chip loading Gentoox Loader 4.6 and MCE 1.0 off a DVD. My xbox has a 8GB drive. My other xbox which has a 10GB drive and Cromwell bios gets the error "Unable to create root partition".
When I swap out the smaller drives for a 20GB the install goes along fine.
Thoughts?
Unable to create swap partition (disk too small?)

Scratch that, the install may FINISH fine but it by no means finishes. I'm left with mce.tgz in hda2 which appears to be slated to be mounted as /boot by its contents.
mce.tgz is never unpacked, and neither is an initrc etc..
This might be because Gentoox MCE was unable to "flash my bios" because of my mod chip?
Either way looks like it borks up the install (the mod chip or something else).
