I'm a noob at ripping my own DVD's but could do it on my PC but I use it too much...

The xbox is perfekt becuase I don't play games very often.
Is there a way to integrate MCE into a normal gentoox installation?

Then you could change so media files is kept on a fatx drive...

Maybe allready asked, then flame away...

EDIT: well, i emerged dvdrip, but have thus far been unsuccessful in actually transcoding my rip. I havent played with it too much, but i've tried the xvid4 and divx codecs, with no luck. This weekend has brought a halt to my investigations. post if you try it and get it to work, because i'd be curious about your settings. otherwise, i will continue to futz with it next week.
