How does MCE differ from mythtv-xbox?

I take it the install is the major difference, is there anything else?
I’d also like to know how you transcoded your dvd, I don't recall the time you posted but it seemed rather long. I ripped The Butterfly Affect at the highest setting and I know it didn't take 4 hours. Can you elaborate.

BTW, it would be nice to have an option to connect to the backend or run local during boot. I want to be able to take my xbox with me on vacation and watch ripped movies or transcoded shows I missed

umm well mythtv-xbox is based off of xebian and its only the frontend (at least i think so). mce is the frontend and backend. which means you can install the frontend on another pc or xbox-linux install and connect to it to get all your media.
