Depends on if you have Home or Pro, then what you are updating. If you had Pro and are installing the XFREE it could take days.

That is personal opinion to which is best. There is Bittorrents, Limewire, eDonkey, and a couple others.

With that X2 chip you need to do a 1024k BIOS, 512k of it should be the X2 or Evox BIOS, then the other 512k should be the Gentoox one.
