I have a newer XBOX that I have a GREAT fully functional version of Gentoox Home version 3.0 installed,and I am very happy with it. (THX SHALLAX!) I backed up all the files from my E: drive that are Gentoox...rootfs,vmlinuz,etc...(not looking at them :) and burned them to a disc...this works great f...

I wanted a way to edit text files straight from my xbox,I dont always have access to my computer,and this way I can always edit everything in my box...total control (without Windows) Almost there...Gentoox is much more than just a text editor for me now...I just have a long way to go in learning how...

I'm gonna have to play with it...but I've got access to the files I wanted access to.

I can edit a text doc by typig su - (then scite)
I can access/edit/move/delete files by typing su (then xffm)

but as soon as I open a file in xffm then I lose privliges for the newly opened file.

one more question,and I wont bug ya no more (snickers...at least for a few days:)

What is the differenc between su and su - ?
su logs me in as
root@xbox gentoox #
and su - logs me in as
Xbox@root root #

OK, I'm Getting it, almost there, I can copy my text files over to the Gentoox directory,and open them from there (from konsole with root privliges) with scite. but when I try and open any files that arent in gentoox directory,it wont let me,nothing outside of gentoox.
