Hi, You dont need a blank E drive, you just dont need your music saves, movie saves, dvd copies, dashboards, xbox media center software ... :) You can move all those to F drive and then install gentoox on E drive. I'm pretty sure they're talking about for the stock HDD, in which case they may not e...

It depends. If you don't want Gentoox touching your F drive at all, choose the E install, but really, there's no reason to do an E install unless you have a stock HDD. If you want to install Gentoox, but still have all your homebrew apps, games and what not, then choose F. If you want to dedicate yo...

Then your best bet would be to buy the Advanced AV pack (has S-video, compsite, and optical on it I believe), or to hardware in an optical out port so you use it with your composite cables. Otherwise, this probably won't be fixed for some time....

Well you need to put the rootfs and the swap file on E  Load gentoox to make sure it works, then use resctoox to move the rootfs and the swap file to the F drive.

It's saying that if your Xbox HDD isn't already formatted to FATX partitions, it'll do that for you. You don't need to worry about that. Just choose the E or F options for your install and it'll keep all your files intact. Just don't choose native, it'll format your F drive.

Cool, also, if you do get an older Xbox, get your RAM upgraded, it'll make Gentoox run a lot faster.

Why? That will only make the overscan problem worse.

I am running it in 480p mode, or at least thats what I set it to in xbvset. How do you get to hoc and voc? If I remember correctly from your other thread, you have a 1.6. In that case, you can't change hoc (horizontal overscan correction) or voc (vertical overscan correction) because the video enco...

From the login menu, just use root as the username and xbox as the password. If you've already logged in, just type su in a terminal, and then type xbox for the password.

Try disabling eth0. Use: ifconfig eth0 down I don't know about the iwconfig drivers, but I know with the wlanctl-ng drivers, I don't have to change any settings to get samba or ssh to work. As long as I had an IP from wlan0, then it automatically used that connection for ssh and samba. As for you sc...
