Nah you only need to switch to the xbox profile and emerge xbox-sources Then you compile the kernel like you normally would The kernel doesn't contain distcc.. its something that you emerge and use with gcc ;) I wouldn't recomend compiling the kernel on another computer (didn't really understand wha...

I have a D-link router (brand makes jack all diference, but i like to make a picture) which connects 3 computers and my D-link Dsl modem. Gentoox wont automatically use the internet and when i ssh in and type emerge dhcp i get: !!! ARCH is not set... Are you missing the /etc/make.profile symlink? !...

well if your gonna use magic you could just use magic, and tell it to sync every now and then..
btw.. to actually update your programs, evertything not related to magic. you have to do
emerge -Du world

Try changing servers in your make.conf..
You might be connecting to an ipv6 server
eg
GENTOO_MIRRORS="http://trumpetti.atm.tut.fi/gentoo/"

You should be able to..
Shallax used an Xenium Ice on his 1.6, i think..
However the new Gentoox Loader should have "full" support for 1.6 :)

Have you tried to re-run the config for vmware?
Oh and it doesn't really matter which windows you run, theyll all be as bad memory hogs on vmware ;)

You might allso wan't to do modules-update after running the config.. just a thought
