HOW TO:- Logitech Pro 4000 webcam with 2.4.22 Kernel

*** Tutorial:- Installation of a Logitech Pro 4000 webcam with 2.4.22 Kernel *** Both Trixter & myself have spent a fair bit of time trying to get our Logitech Pro 4000's working with GentooX & until 2.4.22 this was not possible (if it was we could not figure it out  ) Now 2.4.22 is re...

I think I found it  ShALLaX, I looked in my /etc/modules.autoload file and the stuff in red below was missing. I typed in the modules.autoload file from a back up, rebooted and my net work came back up. Question:- Why would your install script remove that and leave the rest? usbcore input hid k...

Re: What do you want in Home v3.0?

What I have so far is this: * Kernel 2.4.22 * Disable session saving in kde * Add xfce4 as default (preconfigured) * Add script to switch between window managers (XFCE<->KDE) * Add frozen bubble (game) * Delete sshd keys so they are generated on first boot (Security) Of course I'll upgrade all of t...

Well here is a bit of good news on an otherwise bad day for me :D I can report that the Logitech Pro 4000 does now work with the new kernal 2.4.22. I done a successful kernal upgrade on one of my other drives. Steps taken. emerge camsource emerge usb-pwcx cp /etc/camsource.conf.example /etc/camsourc...

If you have done a regular install you would have ended up with about 7 files in the root of e. One of them is gentooxx.xbe

add:-
Item "Gentoox","e:\gentooxx.xbe"
to the evox.ini file and you are good to go

Hi ShALLaX, As I can get access to my native install via your method above i.e breaking out of the Stardust script and mounting my F partition. Would it not be possible to reset my old root password so I can log back in again. Maybe by deleting the old password file (if there is one?) and replacing ...

JusKickNit:- Does your install hang at the same point i.e. the first reboot? I am going to try a fresh install of pro as well. I have a stack of drives here so it wont mess up anything I already have. I am really hoping I can salvage this, as I can't face hours of compiling if I start from scratch a...

I can now boot without the update script running. eth0 still does not start and I have a problem logging in as root  My root password has a pound sign £ in it, and for the life of me I cant find out which key that is. If I press shift+3 it does a backspace. If I do manage to lo...
