In case it helps, here is a funny looking line from the contents of my /etc/fstab file:

/mnt/fatx/f/f_xboxfs /mnt/f_xboxfs reiserfs loop,defaults 0 0

Did magic mess this up? How should I edit it? Thanks.

Can't mount f partition after runnin new Magic

I have two linux partitions on my xbox--the regular rootfs on the E drive and a second 4 gigabyte partition called f_xboxfs on my F drive. Previous to running the new Magic the f_xboxfs partition would automatically get mounted at boot time. After running the new Magic I get and error message at boo...

Is mod_perl already preinstalled in gentoox? If not, and assuming that I will need it, can I emerge both packages at once by doing

emerge mod_perl dbd-mysql

Installing MySQL

I have already successfully installed the apache webserve and php using the command shown in Shallax's tutorial.

emerge apache mod_php php

Now I want to install MySQL. Is there any trick to doing this or can I just do an:

emerge mysql

to get it? Thanks.

Using Peeper

I remember reading on this site something about how to use Peeper in Gentoox to magnify your active window. I searched the site and the forum but didn't find it. Anyway, how can I use Peeper to magnify a portion of my terminal window?

Thanks again Xboxgeek. I had actually figured that out using webmin just after my last post. It looks really strange when you view it as part of Windows Network, however. What is the "boot" directory used for? In my attempt to clean things up I deleted some stuff that was in there. Gentoox...

I suspect that there is a new one every time I reboot. Really, there are so many there is no easy way to count them.

Dozens of boot directories

I happened to notice that my version of Home v3 has dozens of "boot" directories nested inside each other. By this I mean that there is a "boot" at the root level. With this "boot" is another copy of "boot" (looks to be the same), plus some other files. This g...

Realtime Apache Monitor

I am looking for a program that will automatically monitor the activity of my xbox's apache webserver and display the information on the xbox screen. This would be similar to what the "simple server" built into the home version displays. It would show things like the IP of who is currently...

I also have an Xecuter 2.2 and I am currently running the Xecuter2 4977 BIOS. Did Xboxgeek modify a copy of 4977 so that it would look for the gentooxx.xbe (I think that's it) file to boot? If so, does that give you access to a full 128 meg of RAM if you have that much installed?
