Why recompile, if you have never ran magic and it updated your kernel, just take the initrd.gz and vmlinuz (you prolly just need vmlinuz) from the install cd you used to your Gentoox version /shrug

I doubt it, Gentoox is specifically for the Xbox. However Gentoo can be installed on a PS3

it might be the bios' function to handle what happens when the power button is pressed, but i'm not sure perhaps something can be setup to do this.
