i wasnt trying to say something was wrong with GentooX itself, just trying to get some ideas on what the problem was.
You gave me an idea, something loose. I took everything apart, found nothing loose, put it back together, and everything seems to be working fine now.
Thanks, good call.

No scrolling with xpad?
I searched and found a topic or 2 on wanting a scroll feature on the xpad.
So am I to assume that there is still no way to make a scroll up and scroll down button on the xpad? I dont need a wheel or anything, would just like a button to make things faster.

DHCP not working?
so i checked /etc/conf.d/net and it is set for dhcp.
When I boot up EvoX gets a the proper dhcp IP of 192.168.1.101. I can ftp into the box no problem.
Problem is when I launch GentooX, it loads as 192.168.1.13. Whats going on?

Re: X server down after magic
I have some trouble after using magic for the first time. After I ran it and finished it, I couldn't use XFCE any more. Magic did ask me to install XFCE4, though. I said yes and now I can't start X anymore. I tried to type in xbvset and xinit, but those commands don't even exist anymore. Where did ...
