Hi, I did not get the option that you have mentioned. The only option that was prompted was xbvset to configure the screen resolution.

I am running Home 3.1 edition though. Any idea what may be the problem?

No, I do not get the GDM login screen. The screen currently only display a black background with the virtual keyboard as the only visible window. Previously while running xfree, I have configured (from the xfree setup icon) to autologin to my xbox on booting up. Is the problem due to auto-login ? an...

An easier way is to configure using webadmin. Just type http://xbox-ip:10000 and you will be greeted with the web admin login page. In there, u could have GUI to configure your samba and other server parameters.

Problem after latest magic update on Xorg

Hi, I have ran magic yesterday to update the Xorg and now my xbox is behaving strangely. After magic completed compiling the xorg, it prompted the Xbvset to configure the screen setting which I gladly do so. However after the reboot, my xbox now only display the xvkbd virtual keyboard with the backg...

Hi, I have read some thread in the forums.gentoo.org regarding the mythtv installation. Here's what I did as recommended in one of the thread. 1) type emerge sync 1) Edit /etc/make.conf so that the USE variavle looks like this. USE='mysql qt -alsa' 1) type emerge mySQL (not sure if this is necessary...

Hi, maybe my limited experience will help :) I have installed Gentoox Home with native option. This option will format the F partition and install gentoox on it. However the boot files (gentoox.xbe, linuxboot.cfg) still reside in E drive. Gentoox Home by default does not flash your bios (unlike MCE)...

I have found that there is a /boot directory in my XBox and the linuxboot.cfg in this directory is different from that of the E Drive. This is probably the left over bit from MCE. Can I simply delete this directory to remove the native boot option from the loader? or is there other way that I can do...

Oh, that's may be the problem. So is there anyway that i can rectify that?

I have installed MCE previously but has since reinstalled Gentoox Home (Native option) to replace it. In this scenario, what can I do to remove the MCE completely? Thanks.

Hi, I have installed xebian long time ago but have since installed MCE and GentooX twice which formatted the F partition to native filesystem. Hence it should be unlikely that I am still having residual of xebian installation, right? By the way, I am not sure the default is it really boot up in nati...
