ok tried '\\xbox oot' in the run command of windows and the internet browser but nothing comes up. what's wrong then? can u someone please help me out?

yes u can can.howver it depends on the mp3 player.if the player shows up as a 'Removable Drive' is windows then it will work. If not, then you have to search for linux drivers or something.

are u trying to install gentoox or boot? if you're trying to install then just do a ftp installation..i find it easier because cd installation is a hassle.

whats the password for? when i use VNC they dont prompt me for any password.when i want to vnc to my computer then it does.but the default gentoox password is 'xbox' so it should work if u try that.

ur files of gentoox might be corrupted and/or deleted thats why the system cant respond anymore than shutting down
