Unless you have your xbox upgraded, it doesn't have the minimum hardware requirements for a Steam server. You could always kill xvnc, kdeinit, korac, ftp daemon, sssh daemon, startkde, kalarmd, kwrapper, xstartup . . .

Linux's memory management is more efficient than Windows because it keeps stuff in memory until it is needed.

Hmm . . . where to get IE . . . hmmmm . . . it's a free [beer] product distributed by the vendor, so you could try Microsoft's web site. You will need Wine or VMWare or something to run IE under Linux. And also, IE totally sucks from a technical point of view, so I suggest using Konqueror or Mozilla...

In Linux, everything is either a file or a process. From any applications point of view, rootfs is just another hard drive. It becomes the primary file system (/) in Linux, and any file manager will do. If you use KDE, I suggest Konqueror.

Whatever you want. *nix-type OSes are modular, so the kernel is entirely separate from the shell, separate from the GUI. You can just use a shell if you want, or use a GUI if you want.

I disagree with gasranas. True, Linux is not designed around a gui, but, unlike dos, it is 32-bit, pre-emptable, etc.

RPMs are files for the Redhat Package Manager. I think RPMs are actually a type of tarball. Treat it the same way.

Ok, this is going to sound horrible but.... Do you know of any sites (since I don't want to make you type it all up) that can help teach me how to install different file types (.rpm, .tgz) on Linux? Because frankly, i have no freaking idea how to install anything... Oh, and I'm not sure if it's nor...
