Thanks for that, I am no way clued up enough at the moment to implement that. I now have pro running samba, and it runs like sh1t off a shovel and I think there are spare resources left for the required compression / decompression overhead. fanctl

Please could I request that a version of fanctl that does let you set your fan to auto/2% as this is what my XBMC xbox runs at and has been for some time.
20% is just to noisy and 55C is fine for me.

Thanks!

"Pro" (as the name suggests) is for "Pros". If you cant do this yourself, you shouldnt be using "Pro". Both HOME and PRO take Soooooo long to install just to fined out some miss information you had been given was wrong. A more helpful answer would be after installing P...

Not sure if that answers my question, I'm pretty sure once you are in this predicament you cant boot anything, all you can do is put a mod chip in your Xbox and also an unlocked hard drive with the MS dash already on it. This is all only if the Gentoox bios/loader doesn't circumvent this problem.

Error 16 prevention!

Just a quick question, does the Gentoox bios prevent you getting an error 16? For those that don’t know how one gets and error 16, if you leave an Xbox off and disconnected from the mains for a few days the real time clock capacitor will discharge and your clock will reset. Then when you do power on...

Shish jahme! there is a util under KDE to do it, open up control panel. You can also open samba.conf in kwrite, you can ftp in under windows and edit it in note pad then ftp it back. You can also (for shits and giggles) type 'How do I edit samba.conf' into Google!
