Problem sorted. To swap between front ends all you have to do is run the terninal and type "tokde" for kde and "toxfce" for xfce. The knowledge is in this forum, it's scattered, but it's here. I'll try not to post so much from now on.

How do i swap between xfce and kde. So far i've swapped from kde to xfce but i do'nt know how to swop back to kde. If i use xfce i can access the net without the need to set up my network. Hey Nobspangle, the install all went well. There was no mention of any **** ups. Sorry to ask but what do i do now. I only had 1 xbox to usb cable so i modded port 4 with a usb adapter for the modem. so far gentoox has started the download and all is looking good. It's taking a long time though. I've got tingles all over and my belly is full of butterflies. Is this going to work or not. It's killing me

If you've got the focus video encoder the screen will be all garbaged up. To sort this out you have to finish the install using ssh(I think). I use a program called Putty. I'm lucky as i have an old xbox with the connextant video encoder so I did'nt have the problem you have.

Hello again, I've downloaded the speedtouch usb modem linux drivers but can't get them to install. So far i have burned the drivers onto dvd-r but every time i try to open up the disk in fstab i get too many files mounted. If i insert the original speedtouch pc drivers i can use fstab to look inside...
