hmm im pretty sure isaid yes...ima try to do this all over again and see what i did.....im pretty damn sure i only said "no" to KDE and mplayer, im pretty sure i said yes to xfree, xfce4, xvkbd...and thats all it asked it also asked me if i wanted to emerge sync and i said yes to that too....

no i havent, unless magic does it, but no i manually did not install xfree

ok....when i do "magic fix xfcepatch1 && magic" it givesme an error and says that its not installed or not available and to check my spelling, i checked the spelling and it was correct...so then i do "magic xfcepatch1" and it asks me if i want to emerge sync i say yes, it...

that didnt work, and there is no specific error it j ust says there was an error installing xfce patch, now when i do what you said "magic fix xfce && magic" it says that the patch is not either installed or does not exist....maybe i shoudl run "emerge -u xfce" and then r...

ok thx, one more thing...when i leave my box updating, the screen saver comes up after a while, this wont effect the updating process right? like itwont make it low priority?

one more question, if i start "emerge -u world" can i stop it by closing the terminal and if i started "emerge -u world" again would it start back where i stopped/closed it from?

i tried to use this command "ACCEPT_KEYWORDS="~x86" emerge gaim" and it just updated gaim to the next version, thx shallax yea the orange light stopped flashing after closing mozilla....but im still not sure on how to update gaim straight to the latest version.

ok i just did "emerge gaim" and it took like a half hour to update it from version .70 to .72, and .75 is the latest version.....there has to be a faster way to update stuff....also after emerge is finished updating my cpu is at a constant 100% usage....is it still updating somthing? anyon...
