Now don't get me wrong I've tried many versions of xbox linux and have come to end up using gentoox, but that is because it is right for me. It sounds however like you might be more suited to be using X-DSL

I'm guessing that your computers network card is configured to automatically determine its own IP address at start up, I am also guessing that your router has the IP address 192.168.0.1 (usual default) so..... turn off your computer; turn off your xbox; restart your xbox and let it boot upto the log...
