FatX has a 48 character filename limitation (IIRC), no way around it unless you are using a loopback install (e drive install for example) then you can use filenames that are very very long. well they will have to be added to /etc/fstab It depends on a few things as well, if /usr/portage and /var/log exist inside your rootfs you will need to remove them or change their names or whatever so you don't get an issue when they are mounted. Well I see this in one of two ways. First, if your using a software exploit to load a .xbe and ultimately linux, your still booting from the Microsoft bios, this does not have the functionality to do this.
