Bummer. Guess I can't be much help then... I'm too broke to buy an hdtv, so I've got no experience with 'em. hehe
Best of luck getting it to work though. Hope it turns out to be something simple.

Just a thought: it's always good to describe what you've already tried in your post for help.

If emerge is set up to use distcc, then it will be used with magic (magic acts as a frontend for emerge).

Absolutely, and gentoox comes set up to do it. "mount /mnt/fatx/f" will mount your F: drive for you. You might need to be logged in as root to do it, I don't remember.

Sorry to say, the portage snapshot isn't precompiled. In fact, it's not even the source; it only contains instructions for 'emerge' to download and install each package.

If every package in portage was compiled and then put in a tar, the immensity of that tar file would actually create a black hole.

1. A quick stop to rtfm would tell you that the files need to be placed on the E drive (not in a subdirectory). 2. SSH is a way of connecting to a machine over a network, so no, you don't need a mouse and keyboard. 3. msnyder is right. It's what I did. The whole reason I started using Gentoo linux i...

Lets just agree that Shallax put a lot of work into Gentoox, and has earned the right to at least be involved in any official implementation of Gentoo on the xbox. I'm sure that's what we're all saying here. Personally, I think Gentoo is a great distro, and I'm thankful that Shallax has put so much ...

Probably not best to start this in the Q&A Forum... but I hate to make another thread. I can understand that Gentoo wants to keep things standard in their distribution, but... well I don't know. It seems retarded that they would drop Shallax from the project. He's put so much work into this alre...

*edit* sorry, I'm just an idiot. It's early. Is sshd running on the xbox?

I've never used ccache but distcc works the same as in regular Gentoo. Magic just runs emerge, so it works with distcc. Unfortunately, some of the bigger packages (mozilla, kde) don't take advantage of distcc (others, still, error with it. You may find yourself having to disable distcc to get a few ...

Is there something you can do about that double-spacing? It's really bugging me; thanks. More importantly: The reason there are no 3D drivers for Linux on the Xbox. I'm not sure if you know how a computer works, but here's a rough outline: Software interacts with hardware through things called drive...
